Stable mushroom yield and consistent quality depend heavily on three environmental factors: temperature, humidity, and CO₂ concentration.
These parameters affect mycelial growth, primordia formation, fruiting, mushroom shape, and marketable quality. More importantly, they must be controlled together rather than separately.
Temperature
Temperature requirements change during different cultivation stages.
For many mushroom-growing processes, the mycelial growth stage may require around 23–25°C, while the fruiting stage may require lower temperatures of approximately 14–16°C.
The exact range depends on the mushroom variety. Unsuitable temperatures may slow growth, reduce yield, or cause poor shape.

Humidity
During fruiting, relative humidity is often maintained between 85% and 95%.
If humidity is too low, mushrooms may dry out, shrink, or grow slowly. If it is too high, excessive surface moisture may lead to soft texture and lower marketable quality.
Stable humidity must therefore be combined with proper airflow to avoid condensation and uneven conditions.
CO₂ Concentration
CO₂ concentration directly affects mushroom shape.
During primordia formation, CO₂ may need to remain below 0.1%, depending on the mushroom species and cultivation stage.
Excessive CO₂ can lead to longer stems, smaller caps, and a lower proportion of premium-grade mushrooms.

Coordinated Control Matters
Temperature, humidity, and CO₂ are closely connected.
Increasing fresh air can reduce CO₂, but it can also change room temperature and humidity. Humidification can raise relative humidity, but poor airflow may cause condensation.
This is why commercial mushroom production requires coordinated environmental control.
The KINGFIT All-in-One Mushroom Climate Control System integrates cooling, heating, humidification, fresh-air ventilation, CO₂ management, and intelligent monitoring into one system.
With flexible PLC programming, environmental settings can be adjusted according to mushroom variety, cultivation stage, room design, and local climate conditions.
Precise climate control helps mushroom farms achieve:
- More stable yields
- Better mushroom shape
- More consistent quality
- A higher proportion of marketable products
- More repeatable production results
